Two hundred years after its founding in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Gallet is back, marking its bicentenary with a bold relaunch that reconnects the historic Swiss watchmaker with its spirit of exploration. Now manufactured by Breitling, the revived Gallet draws on a remarkable history that saw its watches accompany pioneers across aviation, motorsport, sailing and exploration, including timing the Wright Brothers’ first powered flight. The new chapter centres around the idea of ‘wanderlust’, reimagining Gallet’s adventure-driven heritage for a generation inspired to venture beyond the familiar.
The relaunch introduces four collections across three families: the Flying Officer, Multichron Pilot, Multichron Sport and Gallet Classics, each revisiting a different facet of the brand’s archives. The Flying Officer, first introduced in 1939 for early intercontinental travel, returns in a contemporary 40mm format with its signature rotating city bezel updated to feature 24 modern destinations, while the Multichron Pilot and Sport revive Gallet’s tool-watch credentials for exploration and speed. Across the core collection, interchangeable quick-release straps and bracelets allow each watch to shift effortlessly between environments, reinforcing the brand’s modern, adaptable approach to adventure.
For its 200th anniversary, Gallet also looks deeper into its archives with the Gallet Classics, a trio of 38mm hand-wound chronographs developed with input from historians, collectors and longtime enthusiasts. The Tribute to Multichron Yachting Big Eye revisits the brand’s maritime heritage, the Tribute to Multichron 45 channels its aviation and racing roots, while the vintage-inspired Tribute to Silverlight draws from the historic Multichron Navigator. All three are powered by Breitling’s hand-wound Manufacture Caliber B09, offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve.
